There’s a reason why we feel more alive when our feet touch the ground, when the sun warms our skin, and when we sit across from someone we love sharing a meal made of simple, real food. It’s because we’re connecting with what God gave us. In today’s world where noise, confusion, and artificial distractions dominate, the path back to Him isn’t complicated. It’s a return to the basics. A return to what’s real.
Every morning begins with a pause. A moment to speak to God. Not to ask for anything, but to give thanks.
Prayer reminds us we didn’t create the world, but we were invited to live in it. That we’re not the source of our strength, but we’re connected to the One who is. Through prayer, we realign ourselves with truth and start the day in gratitude, not scarcity.
Take off your shoes. Stand in the grass. Touch the earth.
Grounding, also called earthing, is more a spiritual act than a physical one. It reminds us that we were made from the dust and one day, we’ll return to it. But in between, we’re meant to walk in harmony with creation. This simple connection can reduce inflammation, calm the nervous system, and remind you that God’s creation sustains you.
Sunlight is a gift. It brings warmth, life, and healing. It tells your body when to wake and when to rest. It delivers vital vitamin D, supports your immune system, and lifts your spirit. God didn’t hide it, but he placed it right above us.
A few minutes of morning sun on your skin and in your eyes (never staring directly at it) is more powerful than any artificial light or supplement. It’s direct energy from Heaven.
Your body was designed with divine precision. It’s not a mistake. It’s not an inconvenience. It’s a temple.
What you eat, how you move, and how you breathe all matters. When you begin to treat your body with respect and reverence, you’ll feel the strength and clarity that comes from honoring what God made.
God didn’t give us processed food. He gave us what lives and grows.
The carnivore and keto diets are rooted in one-ingredient foods. Think about it:
These are foods from the earth and the animal kingdom given to us by God to build our bodies, energize our lives, and keep our minds sharp.
When you eat the way He intended, your body responds. Energy stabilizes. Inflammation drops. Mental fog lifts and the craving for junk, both physical and spiritual, starts to fade.
We were never meant to do this alone. From the beginning, God said, "It is not good for man to be alone."
We were designed for community. For conversation. For connection.
One of the greatest ways to honor God is to love others, to share meals, to listen well, to give without expecting anything back. Your relationships are part of your health. They’re part of your holiness.
One of my all-time favorites, Jerry Garcia, the face of the Grateful Dead, was raised Catholic. And while his lifestyle wasn’t always perfect (none of ours are), his mission was clear: spread love through music.
He once said, "You do not merely want to be considered just the best of the best. You want to be considered the only one who does what you do." That’s the call of the believer too. Not to blend in, but to live a life set apart.
A life of love. A life rooted in God’s gifts. A life of simplicity, strength, and purpose.
So if you’re searching for something deeper, don’t overcomplicate it. Start with what’s already been given:
Get closer to those things—and you’ll find you’re getting closer to God.
