24 Hours of Fasting for Strength, Clarity, and the Power of Sacrifice

Reclaiming Strength

Tomorrow, I’m observing a 24-hour fast for physical discipline, as well as for something deeper. It’s Good Friday, a day that holds profound spiritual meaning to us believers. As I commit to a day without food, I’m reminded that fasting is about realignment and isn’t about deprivation.

Fasting is one of the oldest human practices. It shows up across many different cultures for thousands of years and is practiced by many religions. As part of the  carnivore lifestyle, it also serves as a powerful tool for healing, focus, and metabolic reset.

When paired with prayer, reflection, and gratitude, a fast becomes a return to God and a break from food dependency.

Why Fast for 24 Hours?

Even one day without food gives your body a break from digestion and a chance to reset. Some of the benefits include:

  • Improved insulin sensitivity
  • Mental clarity and focus
  • Lower inflammation
  • Accelerated fat-burning
  • Spiritual awareness and humility

A 24-hour fast pushes your body into a state of ketosis and autophagy, where it burns fat for fuel and the body begins to repair itself. Beyond the physical, it also clears your mind and forces you to confront habits, patterns, and cravings head-on.

And when done intentionally, especially on a day like Good Friday, it becomes an offering. A way to participate, in a small way, in a much bigger story.

A Time to Remember

On Good Friday, we remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It’s a day of mourning, reflection, and reverence where Christians reflect on the price paid for our freedom and salvation.

Fasting on this day isn’t considered a requirement, but a way to honor the sacrifice by offering one of our own.

In a world that constantly feeds us (literally and spiritually), choosing to step away from food for 24 hours is a radical act. It says, “I don’t need constant consumption. I need truth. I need stillness. I need God.”

Tips for a 24-Hour Fast

  • Drink plenty of water – Stay hydrated
  • Add sea salt – Helps with electrolytes
  • Pray or meditate – Use the hunger as a reminder to reflect
  • Break the fast with intention – A clean carnivore meal (like steak & eggs) is ideal

A Stronger You, Inside and Out

Fasting isn’t easy. That’s the point. It teaches you discipline as it reveals your true hunger. It reminds you that strength isn’t found in the next bite, but in the choices you make when no one’s watching. Whether you fast for spiritual reasons, metabolic health, or both, just know that your body was made for this. You were made to withstand, to persevere, and to grow stronger through discomfort.

Friday, I’m choosing that discomfort as a form of worship, sacrifice and improvement. As a way to get closer to God, and closer to the man I’m becoming.

One day. One fast. One step closer.

The 30-day carnivore challenge isn’t a trend. It’s a return to simplicity, strength, and the kind of eating our ancestors thrived on. It’s also the fastest way to find out what happens when you cut the junk and fuel your body with exactly what it was designed to run on.

There’s a reason why we feel more alive when our feet touch the ground, when the sun warms our skin, and when we sit across from someone we love sharing a meal made of simple, real food.

This is the Dire Carnivore Heavyweight Routine, designed to build real strength in under 30 minutes with just a barbell or heavy dumbbells. It’s primal. It’s focused. It’s brutally effective.

When most people think about getting stronger, they think weights. They think discipline, sacrifice, diet. Well, they’re not wrong, but what if I told you one of the most powerful tools for transforming your body and mind is already inside you?

At the core of this transformation? A handful of eggs and a deep connection with the earth, the breath, and the light. Most mornings start quietly and peacefully with a vibe like what the Grateful Dead once captured in a way only they could. If you know the Europe '72 version of Morning Dew, then you know that stillness. That reverence. That rising energy from the ground up.

We’re told that obesity, disease, depression, and chronic fatigue are just a part of life. That we should rely on pills instead of discipline. That processed food, distractions, and burnout are the “new normal.” That ends now.
